Introducing Vinocave.

A private dining and wine club located in Fisherman’s Wharf in Shunde, the most lustrous pearl of the mighty Pearl Delta, boasting panoramic views over the river.  Vinocave celebrates the local traditions of the city’s renown Cantonese cookery, pairing local dishes with international wines for an exclusive clientele of industry leaders.  The club’s opening in 2020 saw the transformation of a third-floor office and rooftop into an exclusive restaurant with VIP rooms.  The new spaces drew on the rich history and art of wine making to create a luxurious hospitality experience.

Guests arrive at a wine tasting table, surrounded by a curated selection of vintage wines. Walls lined with Chiraroscuro artworks lead to the private dining rooms ahead.   Stone flooring paves the way throughout the club, inspired by the cobbled floors of underground wine cellars.

Private Dining .

Three dramatic spaces are divided by curved translucent screens with wine-stained timber partitions.  These barrel shaped spaces are reminiscent of the oak casks which are stained purple by the grape tannings as they ferment and mature.  The two larger dining rooms are designed to be flexible with a sliding partition that opens to create a single event space when required.

Each barrel dining space features a sparkling crystal chandelier above a ceramic stone, round table.  The dining chairs are upholstered in a mix of sumptuous wine coloured leathers and bespoke velvets, printed with richly coloured artwork.

A Tale in Chalk.

Chalk is referenced repeatedly in the world of wine, where a chalky taste is associated with an acidic wine grown in cool stoney soil;  chalk mines are renowned for making the best wine cellars with stable temperatures perfect for storing a maturing wine; and chalk boards around the world are changed daily to reflect the seasonal specials and their wine pairings.
